Whirlwind

Certainly a whirlwind is about to begin. In just over a week 240+ people will merge into Washington, PA for CityReach 2009. As a SMYDEK summer begins I know that it is going to extremely fast and extremely busy. CityReach has become one of our top events and it kicks off all things summer. As I talked to Aaron Johnson, Lead Pastor at LifePoint Baptist Church in Washington, PA today we spoke about enjoying the moment. There will be many different things going on and many directions to run while we are on the ground in WAPA. My prayer is and will continue to be that ALL would embrace the moment that God has given us. It is really easy to get caught up in ministry - I think though that we might need to be still, to listen, to fully experience what God has for us.

Part of this whirlwind is already taking place. Just when I thought that I was ahead of the game with t-shirts, designs, prayer groups, rooming lists, transportation issues and training I received a phone call. I will now be filling in for team building. With a bit of planning and a few trips to pick up supplies I think that we might be on track. Now it might just be time to sit back and enjoy the ride! I can’t wait to see my friends from all over the country, well friends from Texas and Arkansas mostly!
