Today I have been working semi-diligently on the SMYDEK summer calendar. Up here in the North East we have always broke from our weekly Sunday night gatherings for the summer. It has just always seemed like there is so much going on and our leaders flat out need a break! I know that some of you roll year round with your weekly meetings and I commend you for it. I know that it seems to make sense to meet weekly when the students have less on their plates - but between camp, city reach and other “church” summer things it just gets insane.
So as I have been working through the months of June, July and August today I have realized a few things. One, summer is less than ten weeks long! Two, only so many things can be scheduled then other things can happen impulsively. Three, I need to encourage and equip my leaders to take the lead in these “impulsive” things!
Here are a few things that may be popping their way into the SMYDEK summer calendar in 2009. Feel free to comment on the good and the bad as well if you have any other ideas.

Glad you're back to blogging. Your "stuck in a moment" blog was "stuck in a moment" (hehe)
You should do all those things on the list. Plus we should do another camping weekend, maybe someplace closer, so it's easier to plan and go.

wow i'm impressed...your students must be stocked. atleast i would be. i just might still a few of your ideas and call them mine. no i will definetly give you props.
