Before this hockey season there were very few times in my life that I cared at all about hockey or even the Washington Capitols. This season though has changed everything. Some good friends of mine that have access to CAPS season tickets called on me and a guest several times this year and each time I eagerly accepted. Hockey in person, at the rink, with beast seats is the real deal. Thanks Woodruffs for always thinking of a brother!
So the CAPS were down 3-1 in the first round of the playoffs to the New York Rangers and somehow they managed to take it to a game seven and come out victorious. Now they are up 2 games to none over the Pittsburgh Penguins! The last time that I was this into playoff NHL hockey was back in college when the Philadelphia Flyers were good and they made it to the Stanley Cup. My roommates and I were hooked and we couldn’t wait for some in the street celebrations when the Flyers won it all. Haha, if anyone recalls the summer of 1998....the Flyers got swept! That basically ended my relationship with hockey until this year.
All this to say, if you get a chance to go to a hockey game - GO! You certainly won’t regret it. It will change your perspective on the sport.
What if people left our churches feeling the same way?
