Be Still

A few weeks ago now God spoke very clearly to me. I love it when this happens, it is such a huge encouragement to know that the God of the Universe, the God of this beautiful Creation, the God of yesterday, the God of tomorrow and the God of forever. Wow, I just realized that I could go on and on. This same God desires to communicate with us and that means that sometimes we have to shut up.

The night that this took place found me in somewhat unfamiliar familiar territory. I had been going through a rocky patch to say the least and found myself at a loss. I don’t normally have difficulty sleeping but this not was different. After many attempts to rest, I kept hearing over and over and over again these words:

Be still and know that I am God!

It was absolutely undeniable. God, in my no sleep bed laying was speaking to me. This was a message that only He could deliver but that I desperately needed. As I flipped on the bedside lamp and searched for this scripture I came across a Psalm that was written for me, for this moment.

I have no idea where you are in your life journey. You may be in some good times, in some prosperous times but my guess is that some of you are experiencing difficulties. Some of you may be at the point of giving up or scrapping religion all together. There is no doubt that at times - LIFE SUCKS that is a fact. The thing is we don’t control any of our circumstances - not the good or the tough. I desperately needed to hear what God had to say that night.
